Oily skin in Oman has a specific enemy: 40°C days, humidity near the coast, and air-conditioned offices that dry the surface while the skin keeps producing oil underneath. The fix is not more products. It is a short routine that balances oil without stripping the barrier.
Morning (3 steps)
- Gel cleanser — a low-pH foaming or gel cleanser removes overnight sebum without the tight feeling. Browse gel cleansers.
- Niacinamide serum — controls oil, shrinks the look of pores and fades marks. Anua Peach 70% Niacinamide Serum is light enough for the heat.
- Gel sunscreen SPF 50+ — non-negotiable in Oman. A watery gel texture stays comfortable under humidity: Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun or SKIN1004 Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum.
Evening (2 steps)
- Double cleanse on sunscreen days: cleansing oil first, then your gel cleanser.
- Light moisturiser — oily skin still needs water. COSRX Advanced Snail 92 Cream hydrates without heaviness; use a pea-sized amount.
2–3 times a week
A BHA (salicylic acid) toner or liquid keeps pores clear. Start with two evenings a week and increase only if there is no dryness. See acne & blemish care.
What to skip
- Harsh scrubs and alcohol toners — they cause rebound oil.
- Heavy creams and face oils in summer.
- Skipping moisturiser — the most common mistake we hear from customers in Muscat.
